Casting news keeps coming think and very fast and the latest actress to join Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class is Mad Man’s January Jones replacing Alice Eve as telepathic Emma Frost.
Eve, so word goes, had scheduling issues so had to walk.
We’ve also heard Jennifer Lawrence has been cast as a young Mystique and by the start of production everybody in the entire world will have a part in the film. I’m playing Toadmonger, a new character who can talk to toads. Obviously that is a blatant lie but I’ll keep daydreaming while the casting news keeping rattling…
In other X-Men: First Class casting news… yes, there’s more… Zoe Kravitz has signed up to play Angel – even though he’s supposed to be a dude – and Bill Milner shall play a young Magneto.
If you recall, dear readers, Matthew Vaughn was originally signed up to direct X-Men 3 before sodding off to make Stardust leaving us fans with a sorry-looking third movie by Brett Ratner. Although Vaughn cast Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut and Ratner kept him, so there is that to ponder.
Already cast is James McAvoy as Charles Xavier a.k.a. Professor X a.k.a Wheels (according to Wolverine), Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Kevin Bacon, Oliver Platt, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne. Vaughn has proven himself a far better director than his old mate Guy Ritchie – who he used to work as producer for – so expect X-Men: First Class to ‘kick-ass’.
